According to New Scientist article (vol 136, issue 1845) “How One in Five Have Given Up Smoking” by Robert Matthews, researchers Frank Schmidt and student Chockalingam Viswesvaran of the University of Iowa “carried out a meta-analysis, statistically combining the results of more than 600 studies covering almost 72,000 people” and found that “hypnosis is the most effective way of giving up smoking“.

And if you need any more reason to quit: the article also states that the Institute of Actuaries found (from a study they had commissioned) that “the mortaility rate for smokers is twice as high as for nonsmokers and that, on average, a smoker dies 6 years earlier than a nonsmoker”.

If you are ready to stop smoking then maybe hypnosis will be most effective for you too.
